The Federal Trade Commission’s former top competition bureau official has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld as a partner in the firm’s Washington office.
Haidee Schwartz, former FTC Bureau of Competition acting deputy director, will begin as a partner with Akin Gump’s antitrust and competition practice on March 25, a firm spokesman said.
At the FTC, Schwartz managed investigations across multiple merger divisions since July 2017, according to a release, and directed investigation and litigation teams focused on transactions involving pharmaceuticals, medicals devices, and other products.
