State legislatures are expected to ramp up their activity in 2025 over regulating artificial intelligence after a year of taking initial steps to rein in the emerging technology.
Multiple states enacted significant laws this year that will for the first time target how the private sector uses AI. Observers said they expect state AI policy work to accelerate next year amid congressional inaction on the subject.
