Aetna Infertility Coverage Settlement Adds New Potential Class

Aetna Life Insurance Co. and a group of its LGBTQ+ members received preliminary court approval of a modified settlement agreement that adds potential class members to an action alleging bias in fertility treatment coverage.

The new subclass is made up of members originally denied coverage but approved for fertility treatments within the following 90 days, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Monday. Judge Vernon S. Broderick also approved notices for the subclass’s members and set a Dec. 6 deadline for sending them.
