Activision Gets OK on Hearing in $18M Harassment Settlement

A proposed $18 million deal between Activision Blizzard and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will head to a settlement approval hearing in federal court in California Tuesday, as planned, after the Ninth Circuit refused to delay the proceedings.

In an emergency motion filed March 22, California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing asked the appellate court to block the approval of the settlement, which it says releases Activision from state claims and would hurt the agency’s own case against the game maker.
