Alliance for Justice Taps ACLU Lawyer to Succeed Nan Aron (1)

ACLU strategist and ex-boutique litigation attorney Rakim Brooks will take over as president of the liberal judicial advocacy group Alliance for Justice, saying courts are the “frontline of democracy reform.”

Brooks, who also was a Biden transition team member and a former Obama administration official, will lead a group that’s been a key player in progressive advocacy surrounding the judiciary and nominations to the federal bench.

“In our time, the courts are the frontline of democracy reform, and non-profits will continue to be on the frontlines of every major social issue for their communities,” Brooks said in a written statement. ...
