Users of 23andMe who are part of a data breach class action settlement asked a court to delay a deadline to file claims and allow a group claim in the company’s bankruptcy.
Data breach victims with a pending case in the US District Court for the Northern District of California requested to file a single claim for the entire class, which includes 6 million people, arguing many class members won’t be informed enough to value their own claims. Their filing came Tuesday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
