The White House is once again asking Congress to cut NASA’s science budget nearly in half, mimicking an effort last year that was rejected by lawmakers.

The proposal, released Friday morning, seeks to cut roughly $6 billion in NASA’s total spending — a second attempt by the Trump administration to slash the agency’s budget by nearly a quarter after lawmakers funded it at Biden-era levels last year.
