Tesla-SpaceX Chip Plant Moves Forward With Musk-Linked Land Buys

A shell company linked to Elon Musk has been buying properties in a rural area outside of Houston in recent weeks, suggesting the billionaire is finalizing the location for a planned $55 billion semiconductor plant jointly backed by SpaceX and Tesla Inc.

The firm, WIT Tech LLC, has acquired at least six parcels of land in Grimes County totaling more than 6,000 acres, or almost 10 square miles, according to property records. Financial details weren’t disclosed.

Although Musk isn’t identified in the filings, WIT Tech’s most recent annual report with the Wyoming Secretary of State was signed by Jared Birchall ...
