The privately held energy company is considering increasing capacity beyond the currently slated 4 million tons a year at the Brownsville, Texas, facility, according to people familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified because the information is confidential. Permits for the project expansion have not yet been submitted, the people said.
A spokesperson for Glenfarne said in a statement that the company would not comment on speculation about future activities.
