Energy M&A Lawyers Do the ‘Texas Two-Step': Texas Brief

Is there a legal term for poaching Texas attorneys? Feels like every firm should be flying the “Come and Take It” flag at this point.

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe swiped an M&A attorney from Skadden for its Houston office, as it seeks to compete for work on data centers and other energy ventures. Nick Woodruff joins as a partner in the energy and infrastructure practice in Houston, and will be the first M&A hire in Texas this year at a firm expecting to add a number of energy-minded deals attorneys next month in the state and elsewhere.
