Wicker Backs Biden’s Pick for FCC Chair Despite Net Neutrality

The top Republican on the committee in charge of Federal Communications Commission oversight said he plans to vote in favor of Jessica Rosenworcel to lead the agency despite objecting to net neutrality rules.

Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee ranking member Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) says he supports Rosenworcel, a familiar face on the Hill, who is expected to garner broad, bipartisan support. Democratic commissioners are expected to restore Obama-era net neutrality rules once they have a majority at the agency.
