Washington State Privacy Bill Hits Senate Roadblock (1)

The Washington state Senate is refusing to concur with House amendments to a bill that would make it easier for consumers to sue companies for privacy violations.

The move likely sets up tense negotiations between the House and Senate in coming days as the state’s legislative session comes to an end.

“Yes, we are going to conference on the bill,” Sen. Reuven Carlyle (D), the legislation’s Senate sponsor, said in a text message. “I remain optimistic.”
