Banks Mine Decades of Deal History to Feed AI Banking Tools

Investment banks are pulling together data from years of deals they’ve arranged in order to get an edge on competitors in an sector increasingly dependent on artificial intelligence.

Boutique investment banks including Moelis & Co. and Houlihan Lokey Inc. are building out datasets of deal history to support their investment bankers. Some are also making money by selling data to clients, executives said Tuesday at the Goldman Sachs Financial Services Conference.
