Following an investigation by the Federal Communications Commission, Verizon Wireless has agreed to credit 15 million customers an estimated $50 million for erroneous data charges.
Mary Coyne, Verizon Wireless’ deputy general counsel, said in a statement late October 3 that customers would receive bill credits for the mistaken charges. The credits will range from $2 to $6, though some customers are due larger credits or refunds. Former customers will be mailed refund checks.
