Verizon Tests Contributory Cybersquatting Theory Against Proxy, Monetization Services

Domain name proxy service Above.com and domain name monetization service Trellian Ltd. are directly and contributory liable for their customers’ cybersquatting through at least 183 domain names, Verizon California Inc. contended in a Feb. 1 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California (Verizon California Inc. v. Above.com, C.D. Cal., 2:11-cv-00973-ABC-CW, 2/1/11).
