Verizon Bumps Prices on Old Customers in Push for New Data Plans

Verizon Communications Inc. is raising prices for some customers with legacy unlimited data plans as it tries to coax them into newer, more lucrative options.

Starting March 1, customers with some older unlimited data plans will pay an additional $4 each month, Verizon said in a statement Wednesday.

This is Verizon’s second price increase in the past six months in a bid to offset slower mobile-subscriber growth and heightened competition from cable companies that have entered the mobile market.
