United Airlines Working to Restore Flights After Software Outage

United Airlines Holdings Inc. is working to restore its schedule after a software outage temporarily grounded planes across the US and delayed more than 1,000 flights.

The Chicago-based carrier, the biggest airline in the world by capacity, began restarting operations Wednesday night to get customers to their destinations, albeit delayed, after resolving a problem that had impacted departing flights.

“The underlying technology issue has been resolved, and, while we expect residual delays, our team is working to restore our normal operations,” the airline said in a statement. The outage wasn’t related to recent instances of cybersecurity issues in the airline ...
