Twitter Inc., Facebook Inc., and Alphabet Inc.'s Google have escaped another lawsuit alleging they allowed the Islamic State group to use their sites to plan terrorist attacks.
Relatives of Nawras Alassaf, who was killed in a 2017 Istanbul nightclub attack, sued the social media sites under federal anti-terrorism laws for allegedly providing material support to terrorism. The plaintiffs alleged that the suspected gunman, Abdulkadir Masharipov, was “radicalized” by the group’s social media use.
