Trump Campaign Fails in Bid to Dismiss Unsolicited Text Claims

President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign can’t shake a class action in a Minnesota federal court accusing it of texting consumers without their permission.

Plaintiffs “adequately” allege violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which bans entities from using an autodialer system to send unsolicited calls and texts to consumers, John R. Tunheim, chief judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, wrote in a June 8 opinion denying the campaign’s motion to dismiss the case.
