Ting’s Gigabit Internet Goes Live in Charlottesville

A new gigabit service went live earlier this week with a surprisingly small level of fanfare and a somewhat surprisingly low price.

Tucows Inc., a Toronto-based Internet provider and wireless MVNO, announced earlier this week that its Ting gigabit residential services network in Charlottesville, VA is live and taking orders. Residents can sign up for the service, branded as Ting, for $89 per month. The company did not specify whether businesses will pay the same price for the symmetrical 1 Gbps service.
