Ticketmaster, 49ers Sued Over Ticket Resale Limits

A San Francisco 49ers season ticket holder filed a treble-damages class action lawsuit on Aug. 5 challenging the team’s new requirement that he sell his unused tickets through the “NFL Ticket Exchange” run by Ticketmaster LLC (Kazemzadeh v. San Francisco 49ers, N.D. Cal., 15-cv-03593, 8/5/15).

When Amir Kazemzadeh tried to sell his unused tickets for the season online, he learned that a new team rule limited ticket release until 72 hours before game time—unless the ticket holder sold seats he planned not to use on the NFL’s ticket exchange.
