Telegram Messenger LLP’s apps will work faster in Russia now that authorities there have halted efforts to block the messaging service, the company’s CEO said Friday.
Russia’s move is “excellent news” and users will be able to access direct weblinks to Telegram services without virtual private networks, company CEO Pavel Durov said in a statement.
The Federal Service for Oversight of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media, also known under its Russian acronym, Roscomnadzor, Thursday said the agency is ending its efforts to block Telegram.
