Taiwan Offers to Back Firms Investing in US During Trade Talks

Taiwan has offered to assist its tech companies to invest in the US and create industry clusters there, as it looked to make progress during the latest round of trade talks with the Trump administration.

Taiwan will consider extending credit guarantees for companies expanding their investment in the US, Vice Premier Cheng Li-chiun said at a briefing Thursday. But the island will also ask the US to assist in providing land, issuing visas and improving regulations, Cheng added.
