T-Mobile, Sprint Win Merger Approval in California

T-Mobile US Inc. won a California regulator’s approval for its acquisition of Sprint Corp.'s wireless and landline phone businesses, clearing the way for the companies to integrate their operations in the nation’s most populous state.

The California Public Utilities Commission’s voted unanimously to approve the deal that combined the nation’s third and fourth largest wireless carriers. It added conditions, including a requirement that T-Mobile offer ultrafast download speeds to at least 93% of Californians by 2024.
