T-Mobile Data Breach Under Investigation, FCC Says

Federal Communications Commission says it is investigating a data breach at T-Mobile that the company says affected about 7.8 million current users.

  • FCC is “aware of reports of a data breach affecting T-Mobile customers and we are investigating,” agency says in a statement
  • T-Mobile says information of its current users as well as more than 40 million records from past or prospective customers who applied for credit were stolen in a cyberattack
