CBS Corp. and Verizon Communications Inc. reached a three-year carriage agreement on Aug. 22 for the retransmission of content to approximately 3.5 million Verizon FIOS TV subscribers.
CBS Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves said the deal with Verizon was reached “swiftly and amicably in just a few days after our conversations began,” according to a staff memorandum made public Aug. 22.
The deal comes as Time Warner Cable Inc. continues to black out CBS to millions of its customers in a battle over retransmission consent terms that began Aug. 2.
