Streaming Patent In Netflix, Hulu Suit Survives Challenge

A video streaming patent that Netflix Inc. and Hulu LLC are accused of infringing survived its first test at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, in a challenge from Unified Patents LLC.

The board said in a decision Monday it wasn’t convinced the patent claims Unified challenged were obvious. Unified is a membership group that has challenged dozens of patents owned by non-practicing entities at the board.
