Sprint Launches LTE in Four New Markets

Sprint Nextel has announced its rollout of LTE service in four new markets, part of its effort to deliver the 4G wireless broadband service to more than 115 cities by yearend.

The new deployments include an expansion in the Chicago suburbs; Wichita Falls, Texas; New Bedford and Fall River, Mass.; and Hutchison and McPherson, Kan.

Sprint introduced its LTE network in July and now offers the service in more than 30 cities, drastically trailing the LTE footprint of its larger rivals. Verizon Wireless has the largest LTE network, reaching 410 markets. AT&T now offers LTE in nearly 90 markets.
