SpaceX Won Federal Internet Subsidies, Now Asks for Rule Changes

SpaceX, the satellite company founded by Elon Musk, is asking state regulators for a number of concessions related to a $42.5 billion government program to provide Internet access to remote parts of the country.

After initially finding it difficult to qualify for the program under benchmarks established under President Joe Biden, Musk’s company successfully lobbied the Trump administration to change program requirements to make it more feasible for the company to participate.
