Facebook and Twitter are doing some fall cleaning.
The social media giants are removing some content and accounts, responding to heightened pressure from lawmakers and consumer advocates.
Facebook plans to allow users to select certain keywords to block offensive or unwanted comments from their posts, adopting a feature already available on its Instagram and on Twitter. A friend or family member can also report bullying on behalf of a user. The move is aimed at mitigating online bullying and promoting better interactions among users, rather than solely on engagement, Sarah Frier reports.
