Silicon Valley Attorneys Looking At Future of CDA Section 230 Immunity

Plaintiffs are looking for ways around the Communications Decency Act, 47 U.S.C. § 230, to assess harm, and defense counsel is looking to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit for the latest ruling on liability, attorneys said May 15.

Silicon Valley is well-versed in Section 230, Timothy Alger, a partner with Perkins Coie LLP in Palo Alto, Calif., told the Legal Frontiers in Digital Media sponsored by the Media Law Resource Center and Berkeley Center for Law & Technology.
