Broadcasters would have a green light to expand their TV and radio station holdings and buy newspapers in markets across the country if the Supreme Court reverses a lower court decision that struck down the easing of federal media ownership rules.
The high court on Friday agreed to review the Third Circuit panel’s decision to invalidate the FCC’s 2017 media ownership rule changes. The Third Circuit concluded that the agency didn’t adequately consider how the changes would affect women and minorities.
