Samsung Lodges Another Patent Complaint at Ericsson at ITC

Samsung, looking to increase pressure on Ericsson in a patent-royalty dispute, filed a new infringement complaint against the Swedish networking company at the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington.

  • Samsung, based in Korea, claims Ericsson’s semiconductors and wireless infrastructure equipment used in 5G networks infringe four U.S. patents
  • Samsung is seeking to block imports of the gear, including base stations, modem units, radio units and components
    • An import ban wouldn’t delay rollout of 5G in the U.S. because “Nokia’s Airscale product line and Samsung’s Massive MIMO portfolio both include 5G base stations” that can replace the Ericsson ...
