Salesforce Inc. has agreed to buy Informatica Inc. for about $8 billion, sealing the deal on a software firm that had seen its shares plunge by as much as 59% since the companies’ first talks failed last year.

Informatica shareholders are set to receive $25 in cash per share, according to a statement on Tuesday, representing a 30% premium over its closing price on Thursday, before Bloomberg News reported that Salesforce and Informatica were in advanced talks.
