Russia Plans to Ban U.S. Media from Parliament in RT Backlash

Russia said it plans to bar access to parliament for U.S. media in retaliation for the removal of congressional accreditation in Washington for Kremlin-funded broadcaster RT.

The lower house of parliament will vote on a draft resolution Dec. 6 to forbid journalists representing U.S. media from the State Duma, said Olga Savastyanova, head of its control and regulations committee, according to the RIA Novosti news service. The measure would take effect immediately and the Duma will recommend that regional legislatures impose a similar ban, she said.
