Righthaven Ordered to Pay $34K in Attorneys’ Fees

The U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada ordered Aug. 15 Righthaven LLC to pay $34,045 in attorneys’ fees to an internet user whose appropriation of an entire article had earlier been deemed fair use (Righthaven LLC v. Hoehn).

Righthaven filed suit for copyright infringement in January after the defendant, Wayne Hoehn, made a comment to a website that included a reposting of an entire article that first appeared in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
