Sony, Universal Music Settle Internet Archive Copyright Suit

A slate of record labels and the Internet Archive agreed to settle a copyright suit over the nonprofit’s project to convert 78-rpm records into digital recordings.

The parties filed a joint notice of settlement Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, asking the court to vacate deadlines. They noted they would file a stipulation of dismissal of the suit, with prejudice, once the performance of certain terms of the settlement are completed.
