Geo Group Inc. violated an Illinois biometric privacy law by gathering and storing its employees’ fingerprints for clocking in and out, a former worker alleges in a proposed class action.

The filing in the Cook County Circuit Court is part of a wave of suits that have been brought under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, which imposes various requirements, including written releases, for the use of state residents’ fingerprint and other identification-related information.
