Plaintiffs Argue Stay Unnecessary in Test Proctor Privacy Lawsuit

The plaintiffs in a proposed biometric privacy class action against ProctorU Inc. argue that staying the case would waste judicial resources and unfairly disadvantage affected users.

And contrary to what ProctorU argued, proceeding with the case wouldn’t prejudice the company, the users alleged in an opposition brief filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.

Attorneys representing the test proctoring company didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

The plaintiffs, Illinois residents who used ProctorU during online assessments, sued the Birmingham, Ala.-based company in March over alleged privacy violations.
