The long-awaited Philippines Cybercrime Prevention Act has been approved by lawmakers and is headed to the president’s desk, according to a June 8 statement from the Senate.
According to the Committee on Science, Technology and Engineering (COMSTE), the Cybercrime Prevention Act Bicameral Report was filed in both houses of Congress June 4. The report was a result of the reconciliation of both the Senate version (Senate Bill 2796) and the House version (House Bill 5808). It will be transmitted to the president soon for his signature.
