Palantir Earns Pentagon Clearance for Classified Cloud Work

Palantir is the latest company to receive clearance to offer its cloud services to the Pentagon for sensitive classified information, breaking a choke-hold from market leaders Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.

The Impact Level 6 accreditation from the Defense Department’s Defense Information Systems Agency means that Pentagon staff can use the software company’s Federal Cloud Service to process and store information classified up to the “secret” level.

“Secret” classification is “information in which the unauthorized disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause serious damage to the national security,” according to the Pentagon.
