OpenAI Blocked From Using ‘Cameo’ Name in Sora Trademark Lawsuit

A federal judge prohibited OpenAI Inc. from using the name “cameo” for features in its Sora video generator while a trademark infringement lawsuit from personalized video service Cameo proceeds.

Cameo is likely to prove OpenAI infringes its trademark, according to an order granting Cameo’s motion for a preliminary injunction. OpenAI can’t use the name or any mark that is confusingly similar as the moniker of any product, service, or feature within Sora, Judge Eumi K. Lee said early Saturday.
