Locast Settlement Is Passed to GOP Senator Probing FCC Pick

Republican Sen. Roger Wicker has obtained a confidential settlement between broadcast networks and a streaming service involving Federal Communications nominee Gigi Sohn.

ABC Inc., CBS Corp., NBCUniversal Media, LLC, and Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. in 2019 sued Locast, alleging the service was streaming their programming without paying fees. That litigation resulted in a $32 million settlement last October.
