LinkedIn Corp. sued 10 unnamed defendants over thousands of bot-created fake profiles they allegedly produced by improperly scraping data from legitimate member profiles on the LinkedIn professional networking service in order to establish competing recruiting websites (LinkedIn Corp. v. Does).
The lawsuit sought money damages and an injunction to stop conduct that LinkedIn claimed is causing significant and irreparable damage to its business.
