Federal courts are routinely granting copyright owner plaintiffs’ motions to subpoena identifying information about internet subscribers who have engaged in infringing file-sharing, but a series of pending lawsuits present a new issue: Do alleged infringers have more of a privacy expectation in their identities when they download and share political content or media that is arguably more sensitive than music files?
