Twitter Inc. is facing a lawsuit from the estate of James Dean, alleging that an @JamesDean account violates the estate’s publicity and intellectual property rights (James Dean Inc. v. Twitter Inc., S.D. Ind., No. 1:14-cv-00183-WTL-DML).
The lawsuit alleged Twitter allowed the @JamesDean handle despite repeated requests since October 2012 to stop the unauthorized use and to obtain relevant contact information of the account’s owner.
