Israeli Consumers Entitled to Service Recordings: Regulator

Israel’s data protection authority issued a draft instruction July 19 that requires businesses to supply audio and video records of all interactions with their service representatives to requesting consumers.

The new instruction from Israel’s Law, Information and Technology Authority (ILITA) says it is the customer’s right to receive any digital information collected by businesses—whether or not its storage is required by law—including recorded phone calls, chat sessions or video conversations involving a service representative.
