Israel’s Privacy Protection Authority has drafted a set of data privacy regulations to minimize how much personal information governments and companies can collect and process by using drones.
Drone operators should only collect data for the stated purpose of their organization and limit the ability to record and store intrusive images and sounds, according to the draft regulations issued Dec. 23. Operators also should safeguard data security, be transparent about its use, and build privacy measures into the technology, the draft proposes.
