IRS Focuses on Artificial Intelligence in Tech Overhaul Push

The IRS is looking at using artificial intelligence as it works to modernize its technology following the receipt of the tax-and-climate law funds, an agency official said Wednesday.

The agency is planning to go live with “early concepts” later this year and fleshing out its models over the next year, said Kaschit Pandya, acting chief information officer at the IRS, at a webinar hosted by the Tax Executives Institute.
