Iowa Is Latest State to Sue TikTok Over Child Safety Claims (1)

Iowa is the latest state to sue TikTok Inc. over claims that the popular social media platform provides inappropriate content to minors despite advertising that its content is kid-friendly.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in a District Court for Polk County by Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird (R), alleged the app “contains frequent and intense sexual content” and drug use. The complaint said TikTok evades parental controls by rating its app as “12+" on the Apple App store even though it should be rated “17+.”
